DESCRIPTION; CHARSET=UTF-8 :How do notions of agency, subjectivity, and materiality play a role in our conceptions of reality? Prompted by this question, members of Egenis will reflect on the conceptual dualisms shaping their academic practices and perspectives on what is real. This reflection starts with 3-minute flash talks in which philosophers, social scientists, and STSers address the above question. The presenters are Tyler Brunet, John Dupre, Andrew Pickering, Rebecca Lynch, Astrid Schader, and Adam Toon. After the presentations, other members of Egenis and the broader audience are invited to contribute with commentaries, reactions, and questions. This is a hybrid event celebrating the academic diversity and rich interdisciplinarity at Egenis. After the event, Egenis will host its traditional Christmas party and everyone is welcome to join.http://www.exeter.ac.uk/events/details/?event=14477
