DESCRIPTION; CHARSET=UTF-8 :Learn how to use pattern-matching ‘regular expressions’ - essentially advanced find and replace techniques - and unlock vast amounts of textual data for your research. This workshop will show you how to clean and curate messy textual data in word processing applications, giving you the skills to structure, sort and analyse data in a familiar environment. This will offer you an incredibly efficient and powerful way to extract the information contained in large amounts of prose and transform it into handy tables or spreadsheets that can be much more easily analysed.

Sign up via Eventbrite is required. The workshop will be held in Digital Humanities Lab Seminar Room 1.

Training workshops are for University of Exeter staff and postgraduates, but interested undergraduate students are very welcome to email digitalhumanities@exeter.ac.uk and any spare places will be allocated to you nearer the time.
