DESCRIPTION; CHARSET=UTF-8 :Event Information
The COVID-19 response in medical education: the Hong Kong experience”

Hong Kong is currently experiencing its fourth wave of COVID-19 infection. How has the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) prepared for the COVID pandemic given its experience of SARS? How does CUHK continue medical education and professional examinations throughout subsequent waves? What are the lessons learnt? This seminar will cover past experience, immediate pandemic response and pandemic preparedness in faculty organisation and priorities in medical education. The use of online training and new developments in preclinical and clinical education in the ‘new normal’ will be outlined as well as student responses on new teaching methods. Infection control and safety considerations and use of technological support in aiding students in online learning and on returning to the wards will be discussed as well as measures implemented to allow students to proceed with professional examinations. http://www.exeter.ac.uk/events/details/?event=11144
